The seasons are changing and we are now transitioning from a hot summer to a cool autumn. I have never been a fan of the cold weather, but I do like the change of seasons. After a while, I get sick of the coldness and rain. :( As I thought of autumn and the leaves turning a beautiful orange and yellow, I though of God's beautiful creation in each season. In spring, everything has new life. The birds are happily singing and the flowers are blooming. In summer, the rivers, streams, and lakes are rushing (if there's not a drought), and the weather is perfect for vacations. In autumn, the leaves change color and it gives pleasure to all people. In winter, there's rain, thunder, lightning, snow, and cold winds. Even though I do not care for winter, it fascinates me how rain benefits the world so much! And snow... I do not live in a place where we have snow, but I have always wanted to have a white Christmas. From pictures and even going up to Northern California, the snow always makes me smile. The Bible also has some things to say about creation and the wonders about it.
"For I know the Lord is great, and our Lord is above all gods. Whatever the Lord pleases He does, in heaven and in earth, in the seas and in all deep places. He causes the vapors to ascend from the ends of the earth; He makes lightning for the rain; He brings the wind out of His treasuries." Psalms 135:5-7
"Then God saw everything that He had made, and indeed it was very good..." Genesis 1:31
"While the earth remains, seedtime and harvest, cold and heat, winter and summer, and day and night shall not cease." Genesis 8:22
As you observe the changing of seasons, think about how majestic it all is. Creation is like our little glimpse into majesty of God. There is not one creature, leaf, or cloud that is the same. Each is special and God made it for our pleasure. As much as you may not like a season, just remember that God's creation is unique.
